Bike NY and Learn to Ride. Head over to Pier 36 on the East River for a fun day with the kids, teaching them how to ride a bike. A rite of passage for every child and parent. However, it’s the City version of the ideal with stunning views of Lower Manhattan as the backdrop to this huge milestone. Join the very patient folks of Bike New York in a group class for children who are ready to ride a two-wheeler for the first time. Bike New York instructors help parents teach their kids how to balance, pedal, start, stop, and steer a bicycle. Registration required.
Participants must bring their own bicycles and helmets. Children must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Be sure to visit the Bike Expo and enjoy BMX demos and activities for the whole family.
