The California Tourism Board is currently promoting its newest campaign Kidifornia, to encourage NY’ers to visit California. They have commissioned the creation of an amazing sand sculpture and what other place then at the South Street Seaport! They are featuring famous locations around the State of California. You will be able to see things like sea lions, lighthouses and birds. Try to find all the iconic symbols that artists have carved into the work. You don’t want to miss seeing this gorgeous display in our city., it ends Sunday!

Just Water is inviting families to join them downtown for a day of fun! Kids of all ages will get to explore the importance of water and climate change through science shows, music and storytelling at Trinity Institute’s Just Water Family Day. The day-long event features two science demonstrations from Philadelphia’s renowned Franklin Institute, a presentation by Salva Dut, a “Lost Boy of Sudan” who founded Water for South Sudan, Inc. and music from New York City’s renowned Symphony Space Global Arts program. There will also be hands-on activities, film clip and presentations. This will be a fun event for the whole family to enjoy!

With the redevelopment of the World Trade Center and the construction of the National September 11th Memorial and Museum. At night is the perfect time to explore beautiful Lower Manhattan, when the many buildings light up the sky. Join Free Tours by Foot as they visit the 911 Memorial along with the impressive City Hall building surrounded by historic City Hall Park. You will learn about the iconic Woolworth Building, once the world’s largest skyscraper. Lastly, guests will take a walk halfway across the Brooklyn Bridge and soak up the incredible views of Manhattan all while learning about one of mankind’s greatest achievements.

Looking for somewhere to send the kids for Spring break? Look no further. Project Playdate is offering a special 2 week program, either half a day or a full day for kids to attend over break. From comic book making to chess and science to tumbling and yoga, these two weeks are dedicated to helping our students explore their interests and develop their hobbies. Over the course of each week, participating students will have access to a broad spectrum of worldly and creative, social and physical learning. Both morning and afternoon sessions will involve a workshop or local excursion. On Friday’s there will be field trips!
