It’s Gingerbread House time! This holiday season, families are invited to the best place for creating a work of art at the Church Street School for Music and Art. This fabulous destination is celebrating its 27th anniversary! The family-friendly gingerbread workshops are a great way to introduce your kids to the tradition of building a gingerbread house without making a mess at home! If your children love candy and love to be creative, sign up for the Church Street Schools annual Gingerbread House decorating workshop. Kids and grownups alike will have a chance to dig into some great candy offerings as they build their gingerbread dream house.
With live music, staff on hand to refill candy and a fun atmosphere, it is a true holiday destination. Kids will enjoy kicking off the holiday season at this great destination in Lower Manhattan, and they will love the assortment of candy that is offered during the workshop.
As a parent of kids, who love to bake, this has become our annual family tradition. For parents who dread the cleanup after baking with kids or decorating holiday cookies, this is definitely for you!

The Friends of Washington Market Park are excited about this year’s annual Christmas party. Come welcome the guest of honor, Santa! This is a great opportunity for kids to say hello to Santa and let him know what they are wishing for this year. This also gives your family a chance to give back. Don’t forget to bring an unwrapped gift to support a local children’s organization to the park!
The team from Kinder Care will be on hand to entertain children with arts and crafts. Don’t miss out on the complimentary cookies and hot apple cider.
The Friends of Washington Market Park is a non-profit neighborhood organization that plans free public events in the park and supports park restoration and improvements. Their events are seasonally appropriate throughout the year.

The Rink at Brookfield Place partners with Proud Nation Inc and Battery Park City Authority to feature a grand scale opening ice show, called “Stars United.” Directed by Karl Giant, supported by Millennium Hilton, the show will be held at 6 pm followed by a chance to Skate With The Stars at 7 pm.
Hosts Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov will be joined by fellow Olympians, Kimmie Meissner and Jeremy Abbott for an evening of skating performances, live music, and cirque style performing arts. Adding to the fun, Billboard 16-time #1 artist and “Dance Music Artist of the Decade” Kristine W, Billboard four-time #1 artist Jason Walker, and Autumn Turner from The Voice, will fire up the chilly crowd with special musical acts.
