Kids are out of school, so what can you do to keep them busy? We are so excited that BPCA resumed it’s annual summer programs, albeit online. Everything to keep you and your little ones active from sports to making ice-cream, find what your kids enjoy HERE.
The Fulton Stall Market Summer CSA begins on June 18 and ends on September 3 (12 weeks). Pickup is Thursday 4:00-6:00 PM, or you may pick up Friday or Saturday 11:30 AM-4:00 PM. All CSA produce shares are pre-bagged for safe, smooth, and efficient pick-up, with one CSA member at a time in the store. A hot-water handwash station is immediately inside. If you wish to purchase additional items they will be collected for you by our friendly and caring staff. We will hold any shares not picked-up through Saturday, after which they will be donated.
Our 14 CSA share options include fresh local vegetables, summer fruits, eggs, mushrooms, cheese, pasta, summer soups, seafood, chicken, beef, pork, plus our Heat & Serve share (rotation of farm-sourced vegetable quiches, pot pies, tamales, empanadas, and turkey sausages) and (new) Dessert share (rotation of small-batch home-made ice creams, loaf cakes/cupcakes and summer fruit pies). Equivalent local product substitutions may be made when necessary.
We hope you will join our Summer CSA. Your pre-paid membership secures for you a reliable weekly supply of high-quality locally grown food and supports up to 14 local farmers and producers committed to supplying FSM’s CSA. You will receive a weekly email every Thursday listing the specific items/varieties in your shares as well as an update-from-the-field (literally) from our MacArthur grant award-winning vegetable farmer Cheryl Rogowski of Pine Island, NY in the Hudson Valley’s “black dirt region” of rich, organic soils.
Sign up for the full 12-week Summer CSA season by Saturday, June 13. You may sign up online, indicating your share choices, or in person at the market. Pay by credit/debit card in person at the market, open Monday-Saturday (11:30 AM-4 PM), or by calling in your card info (2% surcharge) to (212) 349-1380 during these hours. Sign-ups for fewer than 12 weeks are welcome (cost will be pro-rated based on #weeks). Consider partnering with a friend or neighbor to share the CSA cost and pickup.
Join anytime – we are here to help support your local food needs.
If you have any questions please call us at (212) 349-1380 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to helping you eat locally this Summer – more than ever!
NYC’s Open Restaurant Program is an effort to implement a citywide multi-phase program to expand outdoor seating options for restaurants and bars to promote open space, enhance social distancing, and help them rebound in these difficult economic times.
NYC’s approach prioritizes geographic equity and allows us to reach the areas most impacted by COVID-19.
This program is designed to assist existing restaurants and bars that have been authorized by the Governor of the State of New York to re-open under Phase Two and want to use outdoor areas on a temporary basis. This application is only for restaurants and bars seeking permission to place outdoor seating in front of their establishment on the sidewalk and/or roadway. You do not need to apply to place outdoor seating on private property.

Good News FiDi: Fields Good Chicken has re-opened.
Fields Good Chicken has re-opened! The FiDi outpost is located at 101 Maiden Lane. This delicious chicken-centric destination is not only open for take out and delivery, but also supporting frontline workers and giving back to the community.
New delivery + Takeout Options: Knowing that New Yorkers are in need of comforting meals right now, FGC’s director of culinary Dan Jackson developed a new Family Meal package which includes the guest’s choice of chicken, a variety of sides, salad, cornbread, and sauces for $48 (the meal can feed 5-6 people but is great for someone solo or a couple to order and enjoy as leftovers for a few days).
Making a Positive Impact: Fields Good Chicken mission has been to make a positive impact. When founder and CEO Field Failing was in the hospital a few weeks back with his wife who was giving birth to their second son, he was inspired by the medical workers on the frontline fighting the virus. He sprung into action and worked with FGC’s catering team to proactively reach out to hospitals in Manhattan to coordinate complimentary deliveries. To date, the team has served over 3,000 medical workers. Using their existing catering infrastructure to feed folks on the frontlines also led to overwhelming support from guests who wanted to get involved, so the team launched Birds for Good, a donation platform to support the hospital deliveries.
There are two locations open for business: FiDi (101 Maiden Lane) and Union Square (24 East 12th Street). Both locations are offering lunch and dinner pick-up and contactless delivery via Seamless, GrubHub, UberEats, and the Fields Good Chicken app.
