BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center  Presents Pushcart Players’ A Season of Miracles: Holiday Tales

 

With the holiday’s coming you don’t want to miss out on our community theatre’s holiday show. “A Season of Miracles”   is a sparkling collection of holiday stories.  Scenes within the play include “The Nutcracker,” O.Henry’s “Gift of the Magi,” “The Kwanzaa Kite,” and “The Chanukah Miracle.” Crafted and set to music by Tony-Award winner Larry Hochman with the timeless tone of each classic piece, this magical presentation will warm the hearts and delight audiences. As for miracles? They are within us all and at the heart of each story. Get tickets fast before they are gone since this is one day only!

Peck Slip and The Blue School Winter Coat Drive

 

Peck Slip School & The Blue School Annual Winter Drive for the Coalition for the Homeless. Peck Slip School will be collecting Winter Items for the Coalition for the Homeless beginning on Monday, November 7th until the 18th of November.  Please bring anything you would like to donate between Monday November 7th- 10th or November 14-17th. Drop off adult clothing goods at Peck Slip School in the school lobby during school hours. Please drop off canned and non-perishable food items to The Blue School during school hours. 
 
If you are interested in volunteering for sorting or delivery please email carimgelber@gmail.com.

NYC public schools are closed on November 8th for Election Day and kids will be out of school, in honor of Veterans Day so we are sharing some of our favorite holiday camps with our FiDi Families!

Children will participate in gymnastics, art, music, movement, martial arts, yoga, sports, cooking, science, dance and our industry renowned interactive theater experience.

The AltSchool in the East Village is hosting a “Maker Family Day” and FiDi Families are invited! Maker Family Day is a day filled with interactive workshops for prospective parents and students to learn together as designers and inventors. Attendees will also be able to tour the school, meet the educators and team and learn about this great destination. Kids can use their imagination and interact with teachers in a fun and informal way. The 7th Annual Taste of the Seaport

Join FiDi Families at the 7th annual event at the Seaport District. The Taste of the Seaport helps raise funds for students at the Spruce Street School as well as Peck Slip School, for much needed enrichment programs for these wonderful neighborhood schools. Enjoy great food, live music and family-friendly activities on the cobblestone streets of New York City’s historic Old Seaport neighborhood.  Not only are there more than 40 local restaurants and vendors on hand to sample amazing food and treats for attendees but children’s activities and musical entertainment will also be available. Tickets are on sale now and can also be purchased at the event.

Taste of the Seaport and Mad Science on Little Water Radio

Tune in to our weekly radio show “The Downtowner” on Little Water Radio and join us for a conversation with the interactive kids program, Mad Science. They have begun offering workshops and programs to our FiDi Families throughout Lower Manhattan. Learn more about the inspiration for this fun program, how to attend a show and have a chance to win a free kids birthday experience. 

We will also chat with the team behind Taste of the Seaport. Listeners can learn more about the participating restaurants, the schools benefitting the fundraiser and how to purchase tickets for their upcoming day of fun.

 

Taste of the Seaport and Mad Science on Little Water Radio

Mad Science is the world’s leading provider of fun kids science for ages 3-10. They are hosting shows in Lower Manhattan and will be performing at the upcoming Halloween Festival at the Seaport District. They offer a variety of interactive programs for school clubs, workshops, camps, shows and parties that blend education with entertainment, which allows children have a great time while they learn. All Mad Science programs are animated by highly-trained professional instructors equipped with awe-inspiring gear. 

 

Taste of the Seaport and Mad Science on Little Water Radio

 

The annual Taste of the Seaport will take place on Saturday, October 15th and promises to be a great day of eating and playing at the historic Seaport District. Over 40 restaurants will be offering tastes of their best dishes, with all proceeds from the day benefitting two local public schools, Spruce Street and Peck Slip.
