Our Pilates 4 Youth program, held weekday mornings throughout the summer will keep your kids fit and happy!
Initiated and developed by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), Sage Fitness is now offering Pilates 4 Youth programming for children 8 years and older, 6 students per class. Our Mat based program is structured with floor exercises appropriate for children in middle childhood and early adolescence. Guided by the protocols of the PMA initiative, Pilates 4 Youth is an opportunity to teach children exercises that can build confidence during this “magic window” period of childhood where they are open to grasp concepts that can last a lifetime.
Developing body awareness and conditioning, Pilates 4 Youth will enhance your child’s physical activity in sports and dance or be an excellent stand-alone healthy activity.

Welcome to play:groundNYC’s third year of summer camp!
Our Governors Island play lot is a blank slate, ready to be transformed into a land of your own imagining. Work with new friends to bring big ideas to life using a wide array of materials, craft supplies, and basic hand tools. Never used a hammer before? No problem! Our playworkers are here to help you learn the skills you need. Join us for a summer of unforgettable outdoor fun!
Each day at camp will be filled with plenty of opportunities for campers to plan their own adventures. Materials will be provided and supervised by trained playworkers in different areas of the playground.
Due to the self-directed nature of our camp, much of your child’s day will be (wonderfully) up to them! They will have opportunities to play with others, spend time alone, build, take apart, imagine, play in and with water, just relax, or anything else they can come up with! Your child will get dirty and may get small bumps, bruises, or scratches, as that is the nature of play.
They will also have the daily option to take a walk around Governors Island to explore other programs and parts of the island with our staff. We will take a lunch break and two snack breaks outside of the gates of the playground under the shade of trees across a small (car-less) road. This will help provide a chance for them to have a rest and re-energize. The playground itself provides partial shade under canopies and plenty of materials that they are free to use under the supervision of our staff who have been specially trained to work in this environment.
Drop off is at 8:30 am and pick up at 3:00 pm at the Battery Maritime Building (at 10 South Street on the corner of South and Whitehall Streets in Lower Manhattan, next to the Staten Island ferry terminal.)
Weekly sessions are $625 for an 8:30 am to 3 pm camp day.

Becoming a parent can be overwhelming and scary at times. But, there is nothing more daunting than trying to figure out which car seat to buy (and how to install it), which stroller is the best for the concrete jungle and which type of toys, educational or just for fun, are the best option for your infant or toddler. But, luckily, for NYC parents, those questions can be answered by attending the annual New York Baby Show. Thanks to MomTrends for hosting a fabulous blogger lounge with lunch provided by Boston Market.
More than 5,000 visitors attended this incredible show. It’s a great chance to test products before committing to buying and a great opportunity to get expert advice from brands on site and from the various panels that occurred over the course of the tw0-day event. Nursing mothers had a chance to feed their little ones in the Moms Lounge and Dad’s had a chance to relax with NYC Dads group in the Dad’s Lounge hosted by Plum Organics.
We loved the opportunity to speak with some great brands including Americord, Huggies, Bugaboo, WaterWipes, Seventh Generation, Bloom Global, Happy Family, Baby MumMum, Savor, NY Kids Club and so many other businesses that help make parenting more efficient and fun. As a new parent or a parent juggling kids and pregnancy, it can be hard to find the time to do research on all of the products that come with having a newborn at home. The New York Baby Show is a chance to dedicate some time and energy in one spot and get all of your questions answered in a fun and casual environment. There is no sales pressure that you might feel at a brick and mortar store. The brands are on site, simply to share their products and answer any questions you may have. It’s a win-win for the parents and the brands. Many of the brands on site have offices in Lower Manhattan, specifically the Financial District, including Americord and Happy Family. So, we are always thrilled to say hello in person!
We also had the chance to spend the afternoon with the team from MomTrends and chose some of our favorite brands to chat about on camera. The team from Boston Market hosted a delicious luncheon and both parents and kids were happy to have a chance to relax and recharge during the two-day show. We sat down with Mary from Downtown Chic Moms for a fun QA in the MomTrends media lounge and will be sharing our reel on social media.
Be sure to save the date for next year’s show as it promises to be filled with even more exciting workshops and opportunities to meet some of the best of the best when it comes to parenting and all things baby!
