The New York Stock Exchange is hosting the 94th annual lighting of the NYSE Christmas Tree and it is open to the public. The event features musical artists, local corporate partners, and a variety of neighborhood sponsors at this community event. Entertainment kicks off at 2:30 pm and the official tree lighting takes place at 5 pm, after the 4 pm bell closes. Bundle up the kiddos and enjoy this downtown holiday tradition.

It’s time for the 91st Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® in NYC! The first parade was in 1924, and originally known as the Macy’s Christmas Parade featuring animals from the Central Park Zoo. In 1927 the parade debuted its signature giant balloons, including Felix the Cat, the first ever character balloon. This year the theme is “Let’s Have a Parade!” and the lineup features 15 giant character balloons; 37 large- scale, novelty/ornament balloons, balloonicles, balloonheads and trycaloons; 30 floats; 1,600 cheerleaders and dancers; 900 clowns; 11 marching bands; and a host of celebrity performers. The parade was first televised locally in 1946 and nationally in 1947.
