In partnership with the Downtown Alliance, FiDi Families is thrilled to announce that 28 Liberty Plaza (managed by Fosun Properties) is being transformed into a downtown destination and recently hosted the Sing for Hopes piano unveiling as well as an event with the Museum of Math. They are continuing to build the downtown community event space with the announcement of an outdoor movie festival, set to kick off on Thursday, July 21st at 8pm. The movie screenings are free to the public and open to all ages. So, grab your picnic blankets, arrive early for a great viewing spot and don’t forget your water…it’s hot outdoors!
The series, sponsored by Fosun and Downtown Alliance, will feature a different movie every Thursday evening, kicking off with the Steven Speilberg classic, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. Films will be projected on a screen 15 feet high by 20 feet wide in 28 Liberty’s pristine 1.5 acre plaza, which features signature sculpture by Jean Dubuffet and a Sunken Garden by Isamu Noguchi. Free popcorn will be provided to patrons and food will be available for purchase from a selection of vendors.
