Pumpkin Fest at The Seaport

September 30, 2022 by Amy Sullivan

Our neighborhood gem, The Seaport, is gearing up for a month of Halloween fun sure to please  the whole family. Read on below for the events that can’t be missed!

The Seaport is hosting their first ever Pumpkin Fest! Beginning on October 1, you will find pumpkin installations, seasonal food and beverages, and a range of Halloween themed events and activities suitable for all ages. This fest will also host various community initiatives and culminate with a Halloween block party. Here is a breakdown of some of the amazing events you can partake in:

Pumpkin Installations! The famed Pumpkin arch is back on Pier 17, so get those cameras ready and be sure to tag your photo on instagram!

Then get your creative side going by participating in pumpkin decorating! Kids of all ages are invited to decorate their own artificial pumpkin on October 15th from 12-3 pm at the annual Taste of the Seaport Kid’s Zone or on October 30 and November 5&6 from 11am to 3pm at the Hester Street Fair. These are complementary events!

And all month long be sure to use your Pumpkin Punch Card. This card will allow you to partake in seasonal specials from October 1-November 7th. It’s easy to use–just buy 5 pumpkin items at participating restaurants and you will get the 6th one free! More information is on the website.

Calling all four legged friends! Barktoberfest is back! Dress up your pup and head to Seaport Square on October 23 from 3-6 pm for a Halloween costume contest hosted by Downtown Magazine.

Be sure to check out the Halloween Block Party on October 30. Live music, trick-or-treating, live pumpkin carving by Maniac Carvers, and a scavenger hunt are some of the fun activities planned.

On October 30 and 31 between 12-4 pm you can head over to Pier 16 for loads of FREE, yes, we said FREE fun. Kids of all ages can take part in painting and decorating pumpkins (all from an upstate farm and delivered by sail fright) and can participate in the Black Cat Scavenger Hunt on Wavetree and Ambrose.

Please register before you go here.

Or feeling a spooky movie? Head to the Seaport Cinema Halloween Movie Marathon. Seaport Cinema is hosting a Halloween movie on October 30th at The Greens. Showtimes will be at 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 6:30pm, and 8:30pm. And be sure to enter the poll @theseaportnyc on October 11 to vote on what movie will be screened!

The 411: All public events will be free to attend. For the latest updates on the Seaport Pumpkin Fest, or more information about the Seaport, please visit their website here or follow @theseaportnyc on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
