Duane Park Celebrates Spring on Mothers DayDuane Park Celebrates Spring on Mother’s Day. Duane Park is hosting a spring flower planting day and celebration in honor of Spring. It also happens to be on Mother’s Day, so what better way to start off the day than a visit to this lower Manhattan gem? Stop by the park where you can pot your own gorgeous plants, the kids will be able to visit a petting zoo and everyone has a chance to listen to fantastic Brazilian music! Plus, there will be yummy snacks provided by GoGo squeeZ.

Duane Park was the first public space acquired by the City specifically for use as a public park.  This park and the adjacent street take the name of James Duane (1733-1797), who was New York’s first mayor after the Revolutionary War.

It will be a great way to kick off Mother’s Day and all families in Lower Manhattan are invited to attend this Spring celebration.

Date: Sunday, May 11th

Time: 10a – 12p

Cost: Free

Ages: All ages welcome

Location: Duane Park (Hudson and Duane Streets in Tribeca)

Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 yea Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 years of calling NYC home. A year later, our family is on a crazy career adventure in Miami, with a lot of unknowns.

But, we do know that we only get one life to live and jumping in feet first is the only way to live life to the fullest, at least in our minds 😂.

We are already in love with the Miami weather, the happy people, the gorgeous beaches 🏝 and the day tripping way of life. We arrived in FL w a suitcase each and a mask 😷. Happy that we are surrounded by mask-wearers. Wasn’t sure what to expect. But, we will be back in NYC this summer. Lots of decisions to make between now and then. But also lots of fun and exploring over the next few months.

The silver lining of the Covid world we live in is remote learning allows us to travel and say yes to new beginnings. Stay tuned for updates on the next chapter for our website, too.
