Night at the Museums in Lower Manhattan

Once a year Lower Manhattan institutions offers free entry to over a dozen museums and historic landmarks. The event is a collaboration with the Downtown Cultural Group, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Downtown Alliance, NYC & Company, River to River, and Make Music New York. Join us for this opportunity to experience 15 of Lower Manhattan’s museums and historic sites. 

All are within walking distance from one another, perfect for hopping around and checking out as many as you can. Some of the highlights: Museum of Finance, Skyscraper Museum, Lower Manhattan Walking Tours, 9/11 Tribute Museum, South Street Seaport Museum, The China Institute and many more!

Date: Tuesday, June 20th

Time: 4:00p – 8:00p

Location: Various locations in Lower Manhattan (see website for full list)

Age: All ages welcome

Fee: Free!

Night at the Museums

Night at the Museums. This event has been made possible by the China Institutes collaboration with the Downtown Cultural Group, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Downtown Alliance, NYC & Company, River to River, and Make Music New York is participating in Night at the Museums.

Come experience 15 of Lower Manhattan’s museums and historic sites. China Institute will be celebrating its new Downtown headquarters as well as its upcoming fall exhibition: Art in a Time of Chaos: Masterworks from Six Dynasties China.

Enjoy ice cream from Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, Jianbing street food with Mr. Bing, live music, Calligraphy Demonstration, Family-friendly activities, and more!

♻ From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., a shredding truck will securely dispose of and recycle all your sensitive documents, tax receipts, junk mail and old bills. ⁣

♻ The Alliance’s partner @wearablecollections is providing a bin to collect all dry, used clean clothing including shoes, sneakers, belts and hats, as well as household items such as linens, towels and handbags.⁣
