Last Weekend at Governors Island!

Last Weekend at Governor's Island

The last weekend of public access to Governor’s Island is this weekend. Jump on the ferry and check out Play:groundNYC!

Summer is officially over and that means Governor’s Island is closing for the season as well. Go visit Governor’s Island for their last weekend for the season. Make sure to stop by Play:groundNYC, the first wild playscape in the NYC area. The 5,000 square foot space follows other Adventure Playground formats—designed as a junkyard of sorts and filled with “trash”—which means kids are free to build, wreck, move, dig, create and take chances at their own pace and level. There’s an area just for the tiniest adventurers (a mud kitchen that requires parental supervision) and there’s a junk play area for kids ages six and up (supervised by play-workers) and the only “rule” is to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes.

Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 yea Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 years of calling NYC home. A year later, our family is on a crazy career adventure in Miami, with a lot of unknowns.

But, we do know that we only get one life to live and jumping in feet first is the only way to live life to the fullest, at least in our minds 😂.

We are already in love with the Miami weather, the happy people, the gorgeous beaches 🏝 and the day tripping way of life. We arrived in FL w a suitcase each and a mask 😷. Happy that we are surrounded by mask-wearers. Wasn’t sure what to expect. But, we will be back in NYC this summer. Lots of decisions to make between now and then. But also lots of fun and exploring over the next few months.

The silver lining of the Covid world we live in is remote learning allows us to travel and say yes to new beginnings. Stay tuned for updates on the next chapter for our website, too.
