Inspiration comes in all forms. Recently, a friend shared an incredible vision to launch a magazine for girls, tailored to their interests, teaching them about empowerment and providing tools on becoming the best person they could possibly become.
After reading the email below and viewing the attached video, I was inspired to participate in this Kickstarter campaign, in the hopes that my little girl will be inspired and motivated and encouraged to reach for the stars.
Email from the Founder of Kazoo:
I’m writing because I wanted to let you know that I’m launching a new kind of print magazine for girls, ages 5 to 10. It’s called Kazoo: A magazine for girls who aren’t afraid to make some noise. I wanted to share this launch video with you. It was made by a couple of Emmy- and Sundance Award-winning filmmakers, and it celebrates the strength, courage and power of girls (like my daughter, Ellie, who is in this video.)
I’m kickstarting the project over the next 30 days and if all goes well, the first issue will be out in July. My dream is to get Kazoo into every little girl’s hands, so she can not only read, laugh and learn, but also see the world from a new perspective, one where she is celebrated for being smart, strong, fierce, and above all, true to herself.
Here’s to strong girls, and strong women! Let’s take over the world.
