Luminaries is a holiday tradition featuring a spectacular lighting display that follows topography of the Winter Garden at Brookfield Place. This is a great way to celebrate the traditions of Lower Manhattan include ding sharing, community, and connection. The Winter Garden is under a canopy of light coming from 650 hanging lanterns.
This year, Brookfield has partnered with the GRAMMY Foundation® to support their GRAMMY in the Schools® music education programs for high schoolers. Visitors send a wish to the lanterns above by touching one of three wishing stations. For every wish sent, Arts Brookfield will donate anywhere from $1 – $25,000.
Light shows are scheduled throughout the day and every night every two ours. The shows are called “Snowfall,” “Christmas Tree,” “Ribbons,” “Firecracker,” and “Northern Lights.”
The installation will debut Giving Tuesday and will be open daily until January 10th.
