Why not help out the community in a fun way for the holidays? Habitat for Humanity invites guests to come to their Gingerbread Build.  During this event kids and families will spend the afternoon decorating their very own gourmet gingerbread house. Ticket includes one gourmet pre-assembled gingerbread house and all the trimmings with take home box, plus hot cocoa, festive treats by Marie Callender’s, photo booth, holiday music and children’s activities. All the proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity NYC to help build and preserve affordable housing for low-income, hardworking families in all five boroughs. Everyone should be happy for the holidays and this is a fun way to volunteer to help another family in your very own city! We look forward to seeing you there.

Little Water Radio Show Welcomes Habitat for Humanity & Kids In The Game

Little Water Radio Show Welcomes Habitat for Humanity & Kids In The Game

The Downtowner radio show welcomes Sabrina Lippman of Habitat for Humanity to the program on Thursday. This incredible organization has built homes throughout NY to help families that would not otherwise have the chance to own a home. The not-for-profit organization is based in the Financial District and is launching some great programs in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including a “Gingerbread Build” in SoHo, hosting the very successful “Women Build” event and many other fun and creative programs to help support the families that Habitat for Humanity supports. Their mission is to transform lives by building quality homes with families in need and by uniting all New Yorkers around the cause of affordable housing.

The 2nd half of our show will include a visit from Sheryl Katz, of Kids in the Game. This great organization is dedicated to developing New York City’s youth by providing opportunities through sports and fitness to the schools and communities they serve. Their goal is to encourage the next generation of leaders by instilling healthy habits, practicing an active lifestyle, and promoting personal growth through play and competition.

Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 yea Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 years of calling NYC home. A year later, our family is on a crazy career adventure in Miami, with a lot of unknowns.

But, we do know that we only get one life to live and jumping in feet first is the only way to live life to the fullest, at least in our minds 😂.

We are already in love with the Miami weather, the happy people, the gorgeous beaches 🏝 and the day tripping way of life. We arrived in FL w a suitcase each and a mask 😷. Happy that we are surrounded by mask-wearers. Wasn’t sure what to expect. But, we will be back in NYC this summer. Lots of decisions to make between now and then. But also lots of fun and exploring over the next few months.

The silver lining of the Covid world we live in is remote learning allows us to travel and say yes to new beginnings. Stay tuned for updates on the next chapter for our website, too.
