Build Your Own Gingerbread House. Spread and enjoy some holiday cheer at Manhattan Youth’s Downtown Community Center. Come for some gingerbread house building. Bring your creativity, the candy and supplies with be provided.
This seasonal event is a favorite that is led by the center’s early childhood art instructors. Parents and children are welcome to decorate, design, and snack. Enjoy some holiday tunes while you work and spend quality time making holiday memories with your family and friends.
The proceeds from every gingerbread house will go towards financial assistance for children to attend the Downtown Day Camp. It’s sure to be a fun time for an excellent cause.
Manhattan Youth provides childcare, educational, recreational and cultural activities to people of all ages in Lower Manhattan, regardless of income. Their programs stimulate, challenge, and strengthen families. Their services respond to the needs of the community. They are the only community-based organization serving these needs in Lower Manhattan.
The Downtown Community Center features aquatics programs, Arts and Ceramics studios, Culinary Center, Dance and Fitness Studio, activity rooms, classrooms, Great Hall, administrative offices, and more. Children and families from all over Lower Manhattan are welcome to enjoy this new and beautiful facility. The Center is easily accessible from Tribeca, Battery Park City, and the Financial District.
