Bug Out At The BPC!

August 4, 2015 by Deirdre McAndrew

Bug Out At The BPC!
Bug Out At The BPC! The Children’s Museum of Manhattan introduces Bug Out! The Bug Out class allow for students to investigate what insects are and all their unique qualities. They will also learn the important role each insect plays in the environment.
They will be introduced to science and different methods of research through experiments, demonstrations, art projects and educational story times. This is a first come, first serve event for the first 25 kids that arrive! No reservations necessary!

This event falls under the New York Public Library’s Summer Reading Program! This fun and educational program is generously funded by HSBC Bank USA; New York Yankees Foundation; The Rona Jaffe Foundation; HBO®; New York State Library’s Family Literacy Library Services grant program; Pine Tree Foundation of New York, Inc.; May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation, Inc.; and a number of anonymous donors.

Have a blast this summer as NYPL celebrates heroes and cool books, from popular fantasy and graphic novels to the latest in your favorite series. Summer Reading at NYPL is more than reading! Don’t miss the kickoff party at your neighborhood library. Ask your librarian about more programs all summer long. Help your kids stay sharp while they’re out of school! Try to read 20 minutes (or more!) each day, in addition to coming down to enjoy the fun at your local NYPL. Once your kids are tired from a day of sunshine and summer activities, wind down at Battery Park City Library!

Date: Wednesday, August 5th

Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 yea Life is funny. A year ago I was celebrating 20 years of calling NYC home. A year later, our family is on a crazy career adventure in Miami, with a lot of unknowns.

But, we do know that we only get one life to live and jumping in feet first is the only way to live life to the fullest, at least in our minds 😂.

We are already in love with the Miami weather, the happy people, the gorgeous beaches 🏝 and the day tripping way of life. We arrived in FL w a suitcase each and a mask 😷. Happy that we are surrounded by mask-wearers. Wasn’t sure what to expect. But, we will be back in NYC this summer. Lots of decisions to make between now and then. But also lots of fun and exploring over the next few months.

The silver lining of the Covid world we live in is remote learning allows us to travel and say yes to new beginnings. Stay tuned for updates on the next chapter for our website, too.
