Arts and culture are a big part of the fabric of New York City. Lower Manhattan is no exception. Residents and visitors are fortunate to have in our midst, the Lower Manhattan Community Council, which showcases a variety of art exhibits, cultural showcases and so much more. This year, the LMCC as it is known presents the 18th annual River To River Festival, which is Lower Manhattan’s free summer arts festival.

Performances and events (from art exhibits to rooftop movies) celebrate artistic and creative diversity in all its forms throughout spaces in Lower Manhattan. This year’s festival encourages the discovery of what arises when we all slow down. Take advantage of this incredible programming and explore the east and west sides of downtown, from river to river.

Date(s): Tuesday, June 18th through Saturday, June 29th

One of our favorite traditions is displaying our h One of our favorite traditions is displaying our holiday cards on our wall. It’s been so fun to see pictures of our friends with their kids, their 4-legged pets or a beautiful card with no pictures and a note. The hard part is deciding when to take them down. In an effort to stay connected and to keep the conversation going with the kids, I think this year we will keep them up for a while longer. Connectivity is our theme for 2021 and grateful to see friends and family on our holiday wall this year. Any traditions we should know about for the new year? Please share!
