The Battery invites the public to celebrate a new era of play with nature, self-expression, joy-filled puppets, hot chocolate and a ride on the SeaGlass Carousel! Across the path from the successful SeaGlass Carousel is The Battery Playscape, an innovative world of play and creativity designed and now being built by The Battery Conservancy (TBC). The new 1.5-acre Playscape triples the size of the current playground to respond to the growing number of Lower Manhattan families. Playscape elements are inspired by climate, sea, and wind. Rain gardens will filter urban runoff and serve as a global exemplar of sustainable playground design. It’s an amazing addition to the changing landscape of Lower Manhattan.

Fee: Free to attend

One of our favorite traditions is displaying our h One of our favorite traditions is displaying our holiday cards on our wall. It’s been so fun to see pictures of our friends with their kids, their 4-legged pets or a beautiful card with no pictures and a note. The hard part is deciding when to take them down. In an effort to stay connected and to keep the conversation going with the kids, I think this year we will keep them up for a while longer. Connectivity is our theme for 2021 and grateful to see friends and family on our holiday wall this year. Any traditions we should know about for the new year? Please share!
