Skyscraper Museum Storytime Workshop

Skyscraper Museum Storytime Workshop. Bring your kids to the Skyscraper Museum to listen to a reading of Scott Santoro’s book, The Little Skyscraper. Following the reading, they will create their own illustrated short story based on their favorite real city or a fantasy city. This event will allow kids to think big, get creative, and leave with their very own written masterpiece.

The Skyscraper Museum hosts rotating Family Programs on Saturday mornings. These events engage children in exploring urbanism, architecture, and engineering through hands-on activities. Children’s will learn through images, film, and models of skyscrapers as well as changing exhibitions in the gallery. Registration is requested by Friday at 5p.

The Little Skyscraper is a story about a skyscraper that used to be the tallest skyscraper in the entire city. People would travel from all over to see the cityscape from his observation deck and spend time in his little park. As the city continued to grow, people forgot about the little skyscraper. He became dull and realizes that he had been forgotten. Luckily, the little skyscraper learns that he hadn’t been forgotten, but that he inspired the entire city.

Scott Santoro is known for working on many of the most successful animated films with his positions as head of animation for Disney’s The Lion King, being part of the story team for DreamWorks’ The Prince of Egypt, and his current work on DreamWorks’ Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron.

Date: Saturday, January 16th [Read more…] about Skyscraper Museum Storytime Workshop

NYC city kids...(scratch that) NYC tweens have tak NYC city kids...(scratch that) NYC tweens have taken over Florida and we couldn’t be happier. Now I understand why they call Miami/FL “NY South”. We have been lucky to catch up with sooo many of our school families and friends.

Grateful that our kids (and parents) get this socialization after a year of remote learning.

Friends are the best gift ever. Memories of a lifetime. Grateful that we had the best weather, so many outdoor activities and expert mask-wearers.
