NYC Unicycle Festival

The NYC Unicycle Festival is wheeling its way to Governors Island for the Labor Day weekend. They will be hosting a ton of kid friendly activities for kids of all ages and a variety of unicycle sports including unicycle basketball and hockey, and watch some world-famous riders as they display their skills. Enjoy unicycle basketball, hockey and sumo.  Plus, some lucky daredevils will even have a chance to try riding one of their unicycles. Wear your helmet!

Scholastic Store Event with Captain Underpants. Join the Scholastic Store for a fun afternoon reading with Captain Underpants and his newest book ‘Captain Underpants and the Tyrannical Retaliation of the Turbo Toilet 2000’ into the Scholastic Store for a storytime reading and photo opportunity. Children will have a chance to enjoy arts and crafts, a reading, games and fun.

Fridays with FiDi Families

Fridays with FiDi Families

Fridays with FiDi Families. Join us for our final Fridays with FiDi Families event. We will be giving away a $50 gift card from our friends at Fandango, gift cards for classes at Music Beans and joined by our friends from the Schimmel Center for Performing Arts, that is located in Lower Manhattan at Pace University. We have lots of other surprises too! And, it wouldn’t be complete without GoGosqueeZ!

Music Beans: Music sing-a-long party led by professional musicians with interactive activities and games. Singers will use shakers, scarves and parachutes and provide costumes for children to wear. For ages 3 years and older. 

What: Fridays with FiDi Families!

Who: FiDi Families in collaboration with the South Street Seaport

When: Friday, August 29th (our last one!)

Where: The South Street Seaport. FRONT/ROW lawn located at Fulton and Front Street

The River Rangers on Pier 25

The River Rangers on Pier 25. New York City provides an endless abundance of activities for kids of all ages. No where is that more evident by the programs along the Hudson River. FiDi Families is a fan of Pier 25 and all of the family-friendly activities that are offered at this great destination downtown. Join us for the River Rangers program, where toddlers and the big kids can interact with environmental educators, who conduct discovery-based science experiments and nature-inspired crafts. On our last visit, the kiddos were given an opportunity to interact with touch tanks and some great projects that they were really excited to be a part of.

Scholastic Store Event with Ricky Riccottta’s Mighty Robot. Join the Scholastic Store for a fun afternoon reading with Ricky Riccotta the smallest mouse around. Little Ricky Riccotta and his friend the Mighty Robot will be swinging into the Scholastic Store for a storytime reading and photo opportunity. Children will also have  a chance to create their own comic book to take home.

Happy August and End of Summer!

Happy August and End of Summer! Happy August and End of Summer! 

Our FREE Summer series “Fridays with FiDi Families” is on Friday, August 22nd at 10a at the Front/Row Lawn at 19 Fulton Street. We have two more Fridays to celebrate Summer. Join us this Friday,  August 22nd for arts and crafts with The Crafty Kids and our final performance with Music Beans on August 29th!

Giveaways include a $50 gift card to Fandango, the online movie destination for tickets, showtimes and the Family Room – a great resource for parents, plus fun stuff from Skin Gym Face Fitness and complimentary GoGo squeeZ. We will also be welcoming visits from our partners from the Montessori School of Manhattan, Kids Being Kids Photography and Bitsy’s Brainfood. 

We are enjoying the end of Summer and will be posting updates on a semi-regular basis through the end of August. We’ll be publishing events and activities, full-time as of September 1st. 

We can’t wait to provide updates, exciting events and fun partnerships for FiDi and all of Lower Manhattan. Stay tuned and enjoy the end of summer with your families!
