Experience the thrill of catch-and-release fishing and discover the variety of marine life thriving in the Hudson River! Skilled anglers will be on hand to assist. Rods and bait provided or bring your own. All ages are welcome.

CATCH-AND-RELEASE FISHING 10am: Join experienced anglers for catch-and-release fishing and learn about life in the Hudson River. Observe the day’s catch in aerated tanks and discover what you can do to steward the recovery of the Hudson. This day also features an art project and a nature watching. The River Project, the fellow stewards of the Hudson River and New York Harbor, will join us to share their innovative work in environmental education.

Binoculars available to borrow.

Kids and families can experience the thrill of catch-and-release fishing and discover marine life on our very own Hudson River. During Go Fish! you don’t have to worry they will use barbless hooks to minimize injuries to both fish and participants. The fish caught are placed in saltwater tanks for observation and identification before being released back into the Hudson. Live demonstrations and displays teach fish anatomy and heighten awareness of the ecology, flourishing marine life and current state of good health of the Hudson River.

Kids will also have a chance to work on fun art projects, bird watching as well as a kids concert with the Suzi Shelton Band.

Date: Saturday, October 15th [Read more…] about Go Fish! Featuring Suzi Shelton Band

One of our favorite traditions is displaying our h One of our favorite traditions is displaying our holiday cards on our wall. It’s been so fun to see pictures of our friends with their kids, their 4-legged pets or a beautiful card with no pictures and a note. The hard part is deciding when to take them down. In an effort to stay connected and to keep the conversation going with the kids, I think this year we will keep them up for a while longer. Connectivity is our theme for 2021 and grateful to see friends and family on our holiday wall this year. Any traditions we should know about for the new year? Please share!
