The Creative Kitchen Launches Online Cooking Classes with KidPass

Join Cricket Azima and The Creative Kitchen online and make recipes from their adaptable kids cooking curricula, Everybody Can Cook! The content of the lessons feeds the brain, while the flavorful fruit and vegetable-based recipes feed and appeal to the whole family. These classes focus on age-appropriate themes and educational concepts in a fun and flavorful fashion for children ages 2 and up while sharing tips to engage family members of all ages. 24-hour advance registration required.

*All recipes are safe, convenient, and don’t require specialty equipment. Recipes use pantry staples and are easily adapted to include groceries already on-hand. Related grocery lists emailed prior to lesson, should families want to cook along. Adult participation required.

*This is an online class that is hosted on the KidPass Digital Platform, which uses Zoom. Upon booking, you will receive a link to access the class in your booking confirmation email. Simply click on the link when it’s time for your class. Please download Zoom prior to the start of the class.

Kids Food Festival at Brookfield Place - May 11th & May 12th

The Kids Food Festival returns to Lower Manhattan at Brookfield Place. The goal of the Kids Food Festival is to encourage families with children of all ages, to learn about balanced food choices in a fun and engaging environment, that empowers children to make these decisions for themselves! 

Attendees will have a chance to learn about the importance of achieving balance in food choices, through fun activities and sampling snacks. Get your forks ready for a weekend full of flavorful fun! Appetites of all ages will be satisfied! FiDi Families will have a booth with food crafts, so stop by and say hello.  We hope to see you there!

Appetites of all sizes will enjoy:

  • Balanced Plate Scavenger Hunt
  • The James Beard Foundation Future Foodies Pavilion: ticketed hands-on cooking classes.
  • Kids Food Festival Community Performance Area: free performances including cooking demos and live entertainment.

Date: Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th

Time: 10am – 4pm

Location: 230 Vesey Street at Brookfield Place

Fee: Free general admission and hands-on cooking classes $25 dollar ticket per child

Back to School Celebration with The Creative Kitchen

 

Ready or Not…school starts in a few weeks if it hasn’t started already! What better way to transition to a schedule and lunch with friends, than a celebration encouraging healthy snack and eating habits. Join us as we celebrate with “Back to School”, with the Creative Kitchen. The delicious day will include family-friendly entertainment, music, and activities – and feature samples from brands showcasing back-to-school foods and snacks. Families can spend the day enjoying some of Lakeside’s outdoor activities, such as pedal-boating, roller skating, and family-sized bike adventures. Kids can cool off in the park’s splash pad, a state of the art water playground. This fun event is out of the neighborhood, but just a quick subway ride away.

Kids Cooking with The Creative Kitchen at Whole Foods Tribeca

 

Cooking with toddlers can be fun and informative or a ton of work and a kitchen full of dishes. Luckily, the founder of The Creative Kitchen, Cricket Azima has mastered the art of cooking with kids and teaching culinary skills so that the mess is made outside of the house and everyone has fun! Cricket and her team lead several classes and workshops throughout NYC, including Tribeca. Each week, she teaches youngsters about the joy of cooking, about proper techniques for little fingers and shares her love of a variety of foods and influences with her one hour workshop. She offers classes for toddlers, ages 2 – 6 as well as “big kids” up to the age of 11. Take advantage of her expertise, her passion for cooking with kids and sign up for a class at Whole Foods or any of her NYC locations.
