Neil Patrick Harris and the Moms Network Help Kick Off the Launch of Jif Powerups!

Parenting struggles are a dime a dozen. Ask any parent about the challenges of parenting and more than likely, you will get a laundry list of struggles…bedtime, potty training, teething, sleep deprivation and mealtime and snack time struggles. So, it makes sense that the Jif Brand would team up with Neil Patrick Harris, a father, and parent of twins, who also happens to be a fantastic actor on stage, tv, and film and an all-around good guy. He was joined on stage by a comedy troupe, doing improv and acting out real-life parenting struggles that many parents have faced. The Moms Network invited bloggers to attend a taping of a Facebook Live streaming event, which was broadcast from the iconic Caroline’s on Broadway.

The audience was invited to participate as well and the interaction between NPH and his fans, along with the chance to laugh at ourselves and the trials and tribulations of parenting was genius.

Jif Powerups are a great way for parents to offer a healthy snack and especially for kids that are busy and on the go. Summer camp, adventures that take families near and far are great examples of how Jif Powerups can be a part of a healthy and adventurous day.

As we launch into summer, summer camp, road trips and air travel, we are excited to add the Jif Powerups to our arsenal of healthy and tasty treats for kids and adults!

FiDi Families was recently invited to the kick off event for the partnership between AccuWeather and the FDNY Foundation.  The AccuWeather team is helping spread awareness of both winter cold and fire safety during these chilly months. The AccuWeather team was on hand to share weather tips and to educate children. The Chief Executive Officer, of AccuWeather, Barry Lee Myers was on hand to present a check for $25,000 to the FDNY Foundation, in order to support their efforts in fire safety and winter preparedness.  The AccuWeather Ready program is a new year-round weather preparedness program that focuses on keeping people safe and informed. So, we were thrilled to be a part of this new and important initiative.

A number of FDNY dignitaries were on hand to celebrate this new program, including the 35th Chief of Department, James E. Leonard, the highest ranking uniformed member of the FDNY, overseeing 15,000 uniformed Firefighters and EMS personnel.

It focuses on keeping consumers safe and informed. It’s an incredible program that is available to all New Yorkers. We attended the kickoff event and it was a chance to educate local school students on how to be ready for winter weather, with both being prepared and informed and with fire safety.

As part of this fantastic initiative, more than 80 local 1st grade students from the Bronx were taken through an interactive demonstration on the top causes of fires and how to learn about winter weather affects the dynamics of the cause for fire.

In today’s world, technology is key and AccuWeather is leading the charge with weather preparedness tips and tools including in-app push notifications when bad weather is approaching, personalized weather preparedness plans and so much more.  All of the AccuWeather Ready information is available on the 24/7 AccuWeather Network, AccuWeather.com/Ready and the AccuWeather app.

“Bad Moms” Movie Screening with The Moms Network

August 1, 2016 by Denise Courter

"Bad Moms" Movie Screening with The Moms Network

The highly anticipated (at least with my Mom-crew) “Bad Moms” is in theaters now and FiDi Families was lucky enough to be invited to a pre-screening event with The Moms Network at AMC Empire in Times Square. The stars of the film, Mila Kunis and Kathryn Hahn joined the excited group of Moms and Bloggers for a Q & A and they shared their own experiences and stories and encouraged everyone in attendance to enjoy and relax in parenthood and that being a “Bad Mom” is okay.

“Bad Moms” tells the story of Amy Mitchell, played by Mila Kunis, an overworked mom who takes a stand on her relationship with her cheating husband and the mean moms at school. She is joined in her efforts by Carla, played by the hilarious Kathryn Hahn and mousy but sweet mom of four, Kiki, played by Kristen Bell. The three moms throw caution to the wind, drink too much, curse all day and let loose with very funny one-liners and outrageous scenes, that many moms will wish they had the courage to do or may have already mastered, in one way or another.

The film takes on topics that moms can relate to, whether it is long hours, community involvement (PTA anyone) and mean girls, now known as mean moms. It will have you laughing because its so over the top but with a hint of real life. It’s a great film for a Moms Night Out and we were happy to be in the audience with some of the best moms we know! So, grab your friends, a bottle of wine and head out to the movies for a fun night out and compare notes on which character you are, from this funny film. And, a big thanks to the Moms Network for a great #BadMomsNYC night out in the Big Apple.

We were also treated to a visit by @Vivatowels @kidbox @pitopia Big thanks to them for making the event extra special!

Tuck Everlasting Broadway Show with The Moms Network

May 15, 2016 by Rachel Witzel

Tuck Everlasting Broadway Show with The Moms Network

FiDi Families was recently invited to attend the Broadway Show “Tuck Everlasting” with The Moms Network. The show was nominated for a Tony award this season. The new musical is based on the award-winning novel by Natalie Babbitt, which tells the emotional and fantastical tale of 11-year-old Winnie Foster who is in search for adventure. Winnie’s adventures with the immortal Tuck family are enticing and she is forced to make a choice to return to her family or join the Tucks on their never-ending journey.

The story is filled with gorgeous scenery and costumes and the cast does a wonderful job of connecting the emotions of the story and the songs, directly to the audience. As a parent, I found the question of immortality an interesting one. We all joke about the fountain of youth, but what if we found it. Would we want to live a full life and depart the earth, or stand still in time, forever, with the opportunity to stay the same age, forever. It’s a gilded cage question and Winnie is forced to consider her options. My take away from the show is to live in the moment and to enjoy the life you are given, without regrets and to appreciate the time that you have on earth. Of course, I would love to watch my family tree continue, but at what price? That is the question that is explored in this beautifully acted musical.

“You don’t have to live forever, you just have to really live”.

Following the show, invited guests from The Moms Network were invited to a “Talk Back” with the cast of “Tuck Everlasting”. It was great to engage with them, ask them questions and feel their passion for the show.

Tuck Everlasting is directed and choreographed by the tony award winner Casey Nicholaw. Making her debut on Broadway, Sarah Charles Lewis plays Winnie Foster and is nominated for “Best Actress in a Musical” by Suzi Bass Awards. She is joined by Robert Lenzi, Carolee Carmello, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, and Michael Park who play the Tucks.
